Saevus Aranea.
The Cruel/Severe spider is attracted to intense emotions in humans. It looks like a wispy spider with a huge white orb as its abdomen, with two tiny orbs, one transparent and the other pitch black, revolving around it.
Often appearing when someone is experiencing extreme feelings of love or hate, this spider is unseen to the human eye. It latches onto unsuspecting prey by embracing their fingers, giving an impression of an exquisite pearl ring. Its effects though, are quite intense.
The twin orbs revolving around the spider represent balance. The intense feelings of its prey lead to one orb breaking and its main orb taking on its appearance.
A person with intense love or positive emotions, will break the transparent orb, implying that they cannot see any faults or negativity in other people. This effect is akin to the rose-coloured glass, as the person is completely infatuated and refuses to see, hear or speak against their object of love, no matter how wrong they might end up being.
The Black orb breaks and dissolved in the main body, when its prey has severe emotions of hate. The person affected sees nothing but the hate, distorting every facts or situation to fit their hatred.
The only way to overcome this tiny spider, is bringing about a balance in your emotions, being at peace with yourself, let bygones be bygones and learn to see something through every perspective.
Once defeated, it leaves a parting gift of a thread on the finger, a gentle reminder to remain in balance.
